Around this time every year, Scott likes to take advantage of the fact that the kids are out of school for Summer holiday. Time to do a little globetrotting and international music making! Well, this year the kids said they were too busy for such family style outings so Scott and Kolleen flew off to Vienna and had a fab time.
Why Vienna? A band named PIRATE RADIO STATION lives there. Actually they hail from Salzburg to be more precise, you know, where The Sound Of Music was filmed. These young gents had been on Hit or Myth Productions radar for quite a while and waited two years for the stars to align so that Scott could come over and produce them. The trip was fun-filled, adventurous and offered a heaping helping of Viennese culture - all of the aforementioned (and then some) made its way onto the recordings. But Vienna...one thinks 'classical' - fact is unless you call 'Exile on Main Street' or 'Revolver' classical, PRS breaks that town's musical stereotype. These guys are straight ahead, melodious rock & rollers with a good measure of tough and tender to their sound.
Upon returning to Mill Valley, keyboards were performed by Scott and a special appearance by the TikiTown String Section (violins, violas and cellos - all by Tom Luekens) were added to finish the recording. Mixing and mastering at TikiTown followed shortly afterwards and the band began searching for the right manager. Here's to PIRATE RADIO STATION as they navigate all the other demanding areas of the music business. One thing is for sure, they made an incredible first full length CD and they are ready.
